Advice on Travel Plans (H1b) in the middle of Layoff

Hello Everyone, 

I wanted to share a situation I'm currently facing. Unfortunately, I have been laid off from my full-time job, and my employer has given me notice stating that January 5th is the termination date. However, I will still be considered an employee until that date, and I will continue to receive payment until then. After January 5th, I will be officially terminated.

Now, here's my question: Can I travel to India in between this period since my visa on my passport is valid until next May?

Please check with your employer if they will give you a POE letter for immigration purpose on your return back from India.  If you are an employee until January 05, 2023 and have your current employer's backing, then you should be able to visit India and be back before that.  It is the Holiday Season.  Good Luck.
