Confusion which form to file, I-864 or I-864W or I-864A?

Recommended Posts

My son (21 years old student and unemployed) is filing for immigration for myself and my spouse (unemployed, homemaker) in the immediate relative (IR5) category. I have been employed in the US for 15 years and have earned 40 SSA credits. My spouse and I have been living in the same principal residence as my son and I am head of the household financially supporting my son and spouse. I am eligible for I-864W (having earned 40 credits) and also, I-864 (if I show evidence of my income from work) and my spouse is eligible for I-864W (having credited 40 points during the marriage) and I-864A (considering my household income).

Here are my questions.
1. What form would be good to file for myself, I-864W or I-864?
2. What form would be good to file for my spouse, I-864W or I-864A
