Do we need H1B stamping when going to Mexico for a week

HI, good evening. I am living in USA with H1B visa now. I dont have valid stamping on my passport. I hold valid I797.

I am planning to visit client place for a week for project work in Mexico. Do i need H1B stamping while coming back to USA.

Do i also need Mexico visa.

Depending on your nationality you may need a visa for Mexico.

You can re-enter the US on Automatic Revalidation, with an expired visa (or wrong type of visa, if you changed status), if you just left on a trip of 30 days or less to Canada or Mexico only (and no other countries), and your I-94 from before you left has not yet expired.

However, you will probably need a Mexican visa. Normally, someone with a valid US visa (or a visa from some other countries) can visit Mexico without a visa, but you don't have a valid US visa.
