SreejithPothuval Posted June 11, 2023 Report Posted June 11, 2023 My H-1B extension got approved on January 23rd, 2023, but I didn't receive the approval notice. It seems like it was lost in the mail. However, my employer managed to obtain an e-copy of the I-797A from USCIS. This is not a photocopy but rather a printed version on plain paper without any letter head or watermark on it. In addition, my employer has already filed an I-824 to request a duplicate copy of the I-797A. However, the processing time for the I-824 is currently estimated at 20 months. I am currently planning to visit India and I need to go for stamping through the dropbox process. I'm unsure whether the embassy will accept the soft copy of the I-797A. Has anyone faced a similar situation in the past and had success in getting the visa stamped? Quote
Zodiac System Posted June 14, 2023 Report Posted June 14, 2023 This e copy, did it come as an email attachment from USCIS? The email is proof that it has come from the US Govt. even if the photocopy is on plain paper without any letter head or watermark on it. Hopefully this will help. Better to consult an attorney.
