My girlfriend is a foreign national and currently living in the United Kingdom, She has a B1/B2 visa to the USA and travels frequently to the USA for meeting me and vacations. What are the immigration options for her to move to the USA and start a family together? Will I be able to sponsor a Green card for her after she comes to the USA and we get married? newacct Posted June 5, 2023 Report Share Posted June 5, 2023 She should not enter on a B2 visitor visa with preconceived intent to file for Adjustment of Status (the process of getting a green card from within the US) during that stay. Since she resides abroad, the proper way would be for her to go through Consular Processing at a US consulate for an immigrant visa. You start by filing an I-130 petition for her after marriage.
