Travelling to India while I-129, I-539 extension of status application of pending

Is it okay to travel to India when I-129 and I-539 applications are pending? This is "extension of stay in current status" type application. I read online somewhere that if it is change of status application, then you should not travel, but it is okay for extension of status, although I am not sure.

I-94 number is entered on I-539 application. If we go to India and return while the application is pending, we would get new I-94 while entering back. Would this cause any issue?

Your I-539 application will be deemed to have been abandoned and will get denied.  Good if your dependant goes for H4 stamping, while in India.  Good Luck.
