[Layoffs][Travel]: Travel during layoff season on H-1b Visa

Hello, 

I am traveling to India this week to get my H-1B visa stamped and given that it is a layoffs season in all major techs, i wanted to ask following questions:

1) If you are already out of country and you get laid off, can you return back to US?

2) Are you still eligible for 60-day grace period when you get laid off and are out of country?

Start networking with consultancy companies.  If you get laid off while still in India, one of the consultancy company can file your transfer and get you back in US.
