H1b - switch to different language

Hello

I am currently on h1b (software engineering) as a Java software engineer. There is another position on the infrastructure side - systems engineering (still IT and falls under Speciality occupation) which i am interested in but i donot have the skill set for but would undergo training (language etc) . Trying to understand if h1b extension would potentially create an RFE once i move since i would be gaining new skillset in the new position and not really had it at the time of movement.

Any guidance is appreciated.

If job title and duties change then you need an amendment to the original H1b.  It is material change.
