Jay_Kay
Good day, I am a Canadian citizen working in the U.S on TN. A consultant company I worked for on TN applied for my H1-B and I was selected in the lottery by USCIS and the application was approved. However, before I could work on H1-B, I was let go (in September). I joined another company in a permanent position (in October). They mentioned I will need to go through H1-B lottery selection again.I mentioned that they could do a transfer of the H1-B and I don’t have go through the lottery. But they insisted I will have to. They have tried for 2 years and I have not been selected in the lottery yet. So I am working on TN status for them.I would appreciate if you could please guide me in whether I will need to go through the lottery process again or I don’t have to, as I had been approved 2 years ago. Please advise. Quote Link to comment
Zodiac System
Find an employer who is willing to use your current H1b approval and file a transfer. Good Luck. Quote Link to comment
