My spouse filed for I-140 can I travel outside US and get J1 visa stamped with two year home residency and travel back to US?

My spouse filed for I-140. The form asked for my and our kid details as well. Will this application effect me by any chance. I am on J1 visa with two year home residency requirement doing medical residency. Will I get in trouble at border if I travel outside US and come back. Please note that I am Canadian citizen so my J1 visa stamping happens at the US border. You legal advice will be highly appreciated.

Technically, you show Immigration Intent when you file AOS at the appropriate time. I just saw

You will not be able to get a GC until you have fulfilled the HRR or gotten a waiver.
