Apply for H4 EAD on H1B transfer

Hello,

My spouse is having H4 EAD valid till May 2022. Recently I have transferred my H1B to new employer and H1B got approved till Jan 2024 and H4 Extension is pending for approval. 

1. Can I apply H4 EAD because recent days in some cases H4 EAD taking more than a year for approval. My spouse don't want to loose working status.  Am I eligible to apply for more than 6 months window since I did H1 transfer? If yes, What would my option to choose in "Part 1:Reason for applying"  in I-765 form?

2. Should I wait till H4 approval? or Can I proceed when H4 is pending state?

If your transfer H1b validity date is beyond May 2022, then good idea to file for H4 EAD extension too.
