Marrying while I-140 pending

Hello

 

I have a very simple question. I am on H1b and in a relationship with my girlfriend from past 4 years. She filed her NIW and still waiting for the approval. In the meantime, we decided to get married. Our concern is can we marry before her I-140 is approved or it will be a problem. Secondly, can we marry after her I-140 approval and file for I-485 together if it is possible? Please advice.

Whenever you decide to marry, let your employer/attorney know.  They will need your marriage certificate.

NIW applies to vast categories, narrow it down which one it is for. 

Your relationship / marriage and i140 has no relation and does not pose any restrictions to it, unless it is specifically targeted towards gaining benefits from i140 and i-485 applications.
