File 485 while H4 extension is pending

My employer filed an H1b and H4 extension for me and my spouse in May 2020. In August 2020, we both filed I485, I765, and I131.

We recently received the combo cards together and I am planning to use the new EAD for a new job. However, my spouse's H4 extension is still pending. After I leave the current job, my H1b will be revoked. I am worried my spouse's H4 extension will also be denied. So between May and August 2020 will be the illegal stay?

My question is if the spouse's H4 extension was denied, will it affect the 485 application?

It should not affect the I-485 since it's I'm assuming it's in an employment-based category, and so it's okay as long as she hasn't been out of status or working illegally for more than 180 days since her most recent admission.
