pradram
Hi All, My parents B1/B2 Visitor visa is expiring in Mid September 2021, so technically if I bring them early March they can complete their 6 months stay prior to their visa expiry. I was informed by some of my friends that their I94 (upon arrival in the US) may not be extended until Mid-September and they could possibly get to stay only 3-4 months. Has anyone been in this situation. Do you think my parents will get their I94 validity until Mid-September. PS: I have applied for visa extension and even paid the visa fee, but due to pandemic the consulate in chennai is not even accepting dropbox applications. I'm not sure how long it will take for the consulate to open up for Visitor Visa applications. Quote Link to comment
pontevecchio
The visa is an entry document/stamp. The POE Officer determines the duration of the stay. They can enter till the last day on which the visa is valid and usually and generally the duration of stay granted is 6 months. Quote Link to comment
JoeF
A visa is an entry document. The visa has to be valid at entry, but it doesn't matter for how long it is valid after entry. Even when entering on the last day of validity the I-94 would still give them a 6-month allowed stay. Quote Link to comment
