happyc4
Please help! Background: I am on H4 visa right now and will be starting MS graduate program (with full tuition waiver) in August 2021 in the same university where my husband (H1B) currently works on a temporary position (Say Place A). Both of our I-797's are valid until the end of November 2021 from the current position but he is starting a new position in a different US state before August 2021 with a fresh H1B (Say Place B). Questions: 1. Is it mandatory for me to move to the same place with him as I am on H4? 2. How will my change of status (COS) application from H4 to F1 with USCIS be affected if we are at two different places (husband on H1B at a place A versus me in a graduate program at place B.) I plan to file COS by September 2021. Please suggest any ideas to resolve this issue. Thank you! Quote Link to comment
pontevecchio
Have a chat with your student advisor . 1. No 2. Presumably one address of record from where your tax returns go and temp student stay in the university. Quote Link to comment
rksingh
1) You can stay and study wherever you like 2) Your physical location will not affect your COS application Quote Link to comment
