H1_confusion Posted September 7, 2020 Report Posted September 7, 2020 (edited) Hello All, I'm an H1b employee working full time for FAANG category companies as a Director for more than a year. I'm managing a team here in the US as well as setting up a team in Canada. Currently, my GC is filed under EB2 & I'm I-140 approved with priority month/year being May 2015. I m interested to know if there is a way to expedite my current GC process? Is it possible to apply in EB1c category OR apply for an O1 Visa (not sure)? I do carry out research work (I'm NOT a PhD holder) at my company & do webinars as an industry expert. What would be the best option? My employer is OK for me to work from any location & we do have offices in Canada/other countries with headquarters being in the USA. Please advise. Thanks, in advance! pontevecchio Posted September 8, 2020 Report Posted September 8, 2020 EB1C needs to be filed by the company. So ask them if you qualify and if they will file. Quote
H1_confusion Posted September 9, 2020 Author Report Posted September 9, 2020 Thank you! Appreciate your response! Does this mean, I need to go out of USA for a year before filing in EB1C category? Thank you! Quote
pontevecchio Posted September 11, 2020 Report Posted September 11, 2020 That is a possibility. Why not go through https://www.uscis.gov/working-in-the-united-states/permanent-workers/employment-based-immigration-first-preference-eb-1 Quote
