H1B extension, receipt number issuance delay

Hello,

My H1B and I-I94 is expiring on 10-Dec-2020. I think my employer will file my extension in first or second week of September'20.

I recently heard that people are seeing delay of 1 or 2 months in receipt number issuance.

My question is : 

Can I stay in US and continue to work after 10-Dec-2020 in case the receipt number is not received by then ? If yes, what document(s) do I need to have ?

If H1b is filed in a timely manner (with same employer), you will be able to continue to work after Dec. 10, 2020 plus 240 days or until you get H1b result which ever comes first.  Cashed check often has the receipt number mentioned on it. 

Your employer needs to keep proof of timely filing, proof of check payment and copy of form I-129 for records.

My H1 Transfer petition send in premium processing on sep 28th , FedEx Tracking showing delivered on 29th Sep.

It has been 7 days Still did not receive the Receipt no , my attorney saying he did get the email receipt or fax.

Do this happened to anyone. my I94 expiring on Oct 13th

hey- Did you receive your receipt number or any acknowledgement from USCIS? I'm in the same boat.

When USCIS cashes the check associated with your petition, many times they do mention the receipt number on the check.  Contact your employer/attorney for this (LIN/WAC/EAC) receipt number.  If the petition is filed in premium processing, employer/attorney also gets an email notification to this effect.  Due to COVID-19, hard copy of receipt number reaches late by postal snail mail.
