viddu512 Posted July 28, 2020 Report Posted July 28, 2020 Hi members, I'm looking for universities allowing CPT in or after 1st semester. Please advise on universities that are accredited, part of SEVIS program, legit and are in good standing. Thank you Quote

JoeF, Noah Lott, if we enroll into such universities and take CPT for one semester or not take CPT at all - are we still at risk of running into problems at the time of H-1B application review or GC review? Are we violating any immigration laws? Thanks. On 7/29/2020 at 7:30 AM, Noah Lott said: only low level institutions offer CPT...student visas are for studying not working. CPT is offered by diploma mills where one buys a diploma while taking 1 or 2 'classes' online in their spare time.... Quote
JoeF Posted August 1, 2020 Report Posted August 1, 2020 Avoid any institution that advertises CPT from Day 1. They are all frauds, and people likely will run into issues, even if they didn't do CPT. Quote
pontevecchio Posted August 1, 2020 Report Posted August 1, 2020 CPT has to be an integral part of the curriculum and if any Ivy League College for example offers you CPT as part of a curriculum, there is no issue. But that is a pipedream. Joining a phony Institution just for making a few bucks will bite you in the back. Universities do not offer you first semester CPT. Course requirements do and very few courses and I mean very few have compulsory CPT as a part of the curriculum and even then it is possibly later on. Many have got severe visa trouble due to CPT and buyer beware is so true in all commercial enterprises including Private Education. Quote
viddu512 Posted August 4, 2020 Author Report Posted August 4, 2020 Thank you pontececchio for the advise. this is helpful Quote
