subbu888 Posted June 16, 2020 Report Posted June 16, 2020 I am working on H1 in the USA as an IT professional. I have Canada PR and am willing to move there slowly. I am about to get a job offer from a Canadian company. But with this corona pandemic, I want to work for my Canadian employer for a few months (mostly until the end of 2020) from the USA while things get back to normal. So is it legal to work in the USA on H1 and do a job in Canada remotely at the same time? (I have the capability to do 2 jobs simultaneously). Quote
gopalakrishnach Posted June 17, 2020 Report Posted June 17, 2020 I feel H1B is for working for American Employer while being in USA. Not for non-USA employer outside USA being in USA. Please run this by attorney befire you accept and start working. Quote
User099 Posted June 17, 2020 Report Posted June 17, 2020 No, you can't. Your current H1 restricts you to work only for your employer. BUT if you can find a way for the Canadian employer to contract with your US employer then you should be able to do it, which is complicated and might need an H1 amendment. Quote
