GKN2020
Hello, I am currently working on L1 in US and my petition extension is in progress. My son, who is a US citizen studying in the US and is 22 years old, wants to apply for my GC. I have the following questions Is it OK for my son to submit my GC application while my L1 petition extension is in progress? Will such submission have any adverse impact on my petition or my GC application? Though my son is appying for my GC and is my sponsor, as he is still in college and not working, can I provide my employment and income records to show that I am self-sufficient and not dependent of my son Assuming that my son can apply for my GC, would you recommond application be submitted under premium processing or regular processing? If my GC application gets approved, what are the next steps In case of an adverse outcome on any one of the application, does that have any negative impact on the other application? Looking forward for your inputs. Thanks Quote Link to comment
pontevecchio
No premium processing for Family-based applicants. You may be able to do what you propose. First, get a lawyer involved. Your salary can be used under some circumstances. This is not a DIY project. Good luck. Quote Link to comment
Attorney_15
The parent of a US Citizen who is 21 years or older can sponsor a parent as an immediate relative who can simultaneously file an I-485 Application. You may want to speak with an attorney to explore that path to a Green Card, evaluating work authorization options and any other issues.
