kraleti83
Hi I was being laid off from Company A and I was a full-time employee to that company and I was told that you would get 60 day grace period to find another employer and job and I would like to know my current grace period will be completed in a week and is it possible that some XYZ employer has to file the H1-B transfer petition before the 60 day grace period or is there a chance he can still file the petition after the 60 day grace period due to current pandemic situation. Is it possible please advise me and let me know. JoeF
A petition can be filed at any time, but after the 60 day grace period is would not be an extension of status, it would be consular notification. Quote Link to comment
gopalakrishnach
You need to get your application to USCIS and get receipt number from USCIS within 60 days. What is your I94 end date? The above must happen within 60 days of your last working day or I94 end date which ever comes first. Quote Link to comment
User099
You will have to file for H1 transfer or a B2 within the 60 days to stay in status. Quote Link to comment
