rakshit1988
Hi All, I am currently working with Employer A and H1B petition is valid till 2022. Also same with my dependent (H4) and our visa is also stamped till 2022. Now while transferring the H1B to Employer B. Do I also need to transfer the H4 as well? I mean, do I also need file a petition for H4 as well along with H1B. Thinking, once I moved to Employer B, Employer A will withdraw the petition, and that might trigger an complication for H4 visa holder. Please suggest. Quote Link to comment
User099
There is no concept of H4 transfer. You can file for a extension of status for them along with H1 transfer but it's not needed till 2022. Only thing you need to keep in mind is if you don't file for their extension petitions now, they will not be in sync with your H1. If you forget to file for their extension in 2022 they might run into issues with overstaying of their visas. Quote Link to comment
gopalakrishnach
Since H4 visas are valid till 2022, no need to apply new H4 petitions but best advice to apply along with your H1B so that H1B and H4 are all in-sync. Quote Link to comment
