KKCKR Posted May 13, 2019 Report Posted May 13, 2019 Hi, I am on H1B and my kid is on H4. She is here in US for almost 14 years and perusing her education via public education system. Currently she is in High School and wants to go for part time Summer Jobs like all other high school students. Can you please let me know if its OK for her to go for Summer Job on H4 Visa? Also would there be any negative impact in future once we are ready to apply for I485? Thanks in advance.
xTDx Posted May 13, 2019 Report Posted May 13, 2019 Kids on H4 are NOT authorized to work. Only spouses are eligible for H4 EAD that too when primary applicant is on H1b , maintaining status and have i140 approved.
pontevecchio Posted May 15, 2019 Report Posted May 15, 2019 She can, of course, volunteer in areas where everybody else is a volunteer. Volunteering for the red cross, Volunteering in Hospitals and so on.
