sara75
My H4 dependent child volunteered for 18 days (72 hours) during 2018 June-August by oversight on my part for which she received pay and a W2 recently. She is currently in US and is planning to visit India during this summer. We have a prior I-797 approved based on which she needs to renew H4. I am on H1B and with approved I-140 1. Does this episode disqualify her from receiving a H4 visa renewal and or AoS (I-485) later 2. Should I consult Immigration Attorney. What can I do to help her case Thanks Sara Link to comment
pontevecchio
What exactly did she volunteer for? How old is she? This should not have any effect on her visa though any questions asked about anything need to be truthfully answered with no volunteering of information not asked for. Link to comment
sara75
Thank you for the response. She was 14 at that time. Neither we (parents) nor she realized this could count as work till we received W-2 with her TIN mentioned. Volunteered during 2018 summer to help at music school. 1. Organized books in shelves in alphabetical order 2. Occasionally called customers to inform their order status 3. Broke down boxes to help with recycling Does this need to be mentioned on DS-160. pontevecchio
Since she is not allowed work, there is no work history. She should donate that money to the music school. Link to comment
