phani S Posted February 22, 2019 Report Posted February 22, 2019 Hi, My cousin traveled to India and he is supposed to come back in a week, now he lost his Advance parole card (a combo card for EAD, AP) back in India. He is on AoS. what is the option for him? I think Boarding foil and transportation letter may not work as he is not a permanent resident. He does not have any visa, please advise how to approach embassy
newacct Posted February 22, 2019 Report Posted February 22, 2019 He can try to contact the USCIS office that issued his Advance Parole to see if they can re-issue it. If not, he would have to file I-131 to apply for Advance Parole from abroad, selecting the option "1.e. I am outside the United States, and I am applying for an Advance Parole Document."
Provence Posted February 22, 2019 Report Posted February 22, 2019 Without the AP card, he has no choice but to get the transportation letter. Unless he could be re-issued the Advance Parole card again. Either way, he has to prepare for somewhat of a wait.

It may take 6 months + if they issue it.
