RFE In Premium and travel to India

I require a consultation regarding my H1B visa case and my travel to my home country India.

Below are my case details:

1. My H1B Visa was applied by COMPANY1 in 2016 which was valid from Nov 22nd, 2016 to Sep 30th, 2017.
2. On the basis of which I travelled to  US on March 17th, 2017.
3. Since my visa was expiring on Sep 30th, 2017, COMPANY1 has filed an extesnion and I got an Approval on the extension till May 2020 in Oct first week.
4. Meanwhile, I got another job with COMPANY2 in Sep 2017 and COMPANY2 has filled my H1B transfer on Oct 02nd, 2017.
5. I have joined COMPANY2 on H1B receipt - I797 C on Oct 26th, 2017.
6. I have waited till December but, did not get my approval on H1B petition filed by COMPANY2.
7. Since I want to travel to India on Feb 15th, I have upgraded my petition to premium on Jan 5th, 2018.
8. I got RFE on my petition on Jan, 19th 2018.
9. Since then I am following up with my organizaion to submit my RFE documents and it is inprogress.

My Query:

1. Can I travel to India as my visa from previous employer COMPANY1 is already expired on Sep 30th, 2017?
2. Is there any possibility to travel in this case?
3. Is approval from my current employer COMPANY2 is mandatory to go to India and get my visa stmaping done.

Please help in this context and tell me if I can travel in this condition.

You can travel. But you will need approval of the H1 petition with B to get a visa stamp and return.

Thanks for the response. Please advise if I can apply for stamping (DS-160) after going back to India.
