Approved I140 in EB2 category from previous employer and New employer filing in EB3 Category

I have an approved I140 in EB2 category from my previous employer. Switched to a new employer and my new employer is filing in EB3 category. Can i have both EB2 and EB3 categories simultaneously and can EB2 and EB3 have different priority dates (I don't want to port my Priority Date). Appreciate your response.

You can have 2 such I-140 petitions approved and can choose the latest PD for that EB classification when the PD is current.

Thanks for your reply. So my EB2 I140 will stiil be there and wont get cancelled after my EB3 I140 is approved? My previous employer said, once the EB3 I140 is approved, i will be losing my EB2 I140. Is it true?
