sach85 Posted November 15, 2017 Report Posted November 15, 2017 Hi all, This forum was very useful while I was awaiting my waiver. So I wanted to share my 'fear of persecution' J1 waiver timeline for the benefit of others. Country of nationality is India. USCIS received application: December 23, 2016 DOS received application: January 3, 2017 USCIS requests DOS opinion: July 6, 2017 DOS receives USCIS request: July 12, 2017(online status updated on July 18) DOS sends favorable opinion: July 17, 2017(surprisingly fast just in 5 days!) USCIS approves waiver: July 18, 2017 Waiver received in mail: July 28, 2017 Good luck to everyone, Sach

Do I need to file I-612 to USCIS first and then 3035 to DOS? What should be the order? Thanks for your response in advance.
