skwis
Applying for my H1 extension and wife & Child's H4 extension. I 140 approved, Child is turning 21 years soon. As I understand child cannot be on H4 past 21 years, So, I think child will get H4 extension only upto when child reaches 21 years. Should we apply Wife and child's H4 extension jointly or separately? What are the benefits and drawbacks? I assume if we file jointly, both child and wife will get shorter ( less than 3 years ) H4 extension because of child turning 21 years soon. If we file separately, child will still get shorter extension but at least wife will get 3 years extension. Please let me know if my understanding is correct and what would be the best bet. You can file together. Both will get separate I-94's with different expiry dates. Link to comment
