What is the minimum H1B Visa validity period required to travel USA in order to have a smooth immigration check

Hi,

My H1b Visa will expire on 23rd Feb 2018 (Got visa for 1 year) , And am still in India working on Notice period.

I heard that, a minimum of 6 months of valid visa is required to avoid difficulties at immigration check. 

Can someone post your comments on it to have a smooth travel to USA.
