sgman Posted July 13, 2017 Report Posted July 13, 2017 Hi, I am working with company A where I have an approved I-140. My H1 is extended till next 2 years. Now I got an offer from company B. I know if I move to company B, the the previous I-140 will not be revoked and my priority date will be retained. My question is, in company B, how many H1 extensions can I get based on my previous I-140 before my new company can do my Perm processing again and whether I need to do another Perm/I-140 with new company. This question is based on the rule changes of Jan-17. Thanks, User
pontevecchio Posted July 14, 2017 Report Posted July 14, 2017 The I-140 can be revoked, but you retain the PD. You will need to have any GC sponsor in future start from PERM etc, though you retain the PD. Even the rule changes will not permit indefinite H1 extensions though they should provide for extensions till your dates are current.
