H1B transfer taking long time

Hello,

 

I came to US through employer A and I moved to employer B in last January.

My current visa which I got through employer A is valid till Dec 2017 and my current employer "B" has filed H1B transfer on 12 Dec 2016 in normal process. I am still waiting for a decision on the approval and my family is planning to go to India in couple of months. (They are planning to return after 6 months and I hope I will have the approval by that time)

The question is can they travel to India when the H1/4 transfer is in progress and can they come back after getting H4 stamped in India.
