H1B petition exiry date and visa stamping

Hi

My current petition is expiring in May 2018. I am planning to travel to India this year and will have to go through visa stamping process as I changed my employer.

Is there a time limit till when I should apply for visa and go through the stamping process before petition expires?

No time limit. You can go whenever you want.
