H1B Transfer from India

Hi All , 

Need advice on the H1B transfer in India .  I have H1B visa stamped and Valid till Aug 2017 . I have never travelled to US on this H1B Visa . My current employer was planning to send me to USA in Oct 2016 but it is getting delayed as the client is planning to ramp down . In view of this , I am planning to Join a new company in India . Can you please let me know if the existing H1B can be transferred to a new company from India ? If yes , Please let me know the process involved in this ? There may a possibility that my current employer may not give the original petition copy after resigning from the company . Is the photocopy of approved Petition is sufficient enough for transfer of H1B in India . Please let me know what is the best possible way  to move to USA with approved petition .

In view of recent changes and the possibility that the fact that you have the H1 visa stamp MAY help you to "transfer" your H1 even without working for the initial employer. But you should confirm this with say the firm of Murthy.
