Change of Employer with I-140 Approved and 6th year in H1-B

Hello,

 

With a recent merger and acquisition for my current employer I will like to see my option to change my employer, so, I will like to explore whether that is fine to proceed with or not? From immigration stand point my current situation is; I am in my 6th year of H1-B and do have an approved I-140 as of June 2011.  

 

As with recent retrograde in filing I-140  back in 2005 and not visibility of getting back to 2011, I would like to consult and get a direction from an experience law firm advice on whether it is time for me to change the employer or stay where I am?

 

I do appreciate a feedback and if required open to take consultation before taking any action/next step.
