Immigration Freeze for 60 days

What does the immigration freeze mean for the people who are already here on their H1Bs and have approved I-140s.

Will they process extensions or is there a freeze on the extensions too?

I know the freeze is a topic just off the press, but any advise would be appreicated?

It currently sounds like the to be signed executive order will only affect I-485 Applications. It is not clear how they would be affected though.

Only GC processing will be stopped for next 60 days.

President was beating around the bush when reporters pressed him for details during yesterday’s briefing .. but he clearly said NIvs not impacted.. and then there will be two EOs on this topic...

besides holding the approval of 485s, my speculation is that they will stop issuing immigrant visas such as diversity, asylum  and family based (even if the consulates reopen in 60 days)

The proclamation only suspends entry as immigrants. It does not affect people who are already in the US and does not affect Adjustment of Status.
