NotAnAttorney
without receipt number, and without knowing whether 1-140 is filed for you or not, I don't think you can get approval documents. Quote Link to comment
rohit369
They wont give. Its employer's property. You can request them to provide a scanned copy quoting that you need it for your records. You can file a request in FOIA. Quote Link to comment
gopalakrishnach
Normally employers will provide copy of I140 approval. Quote Link to comment
User099
If you know your A number which might be on your H1 approval notice (incase you applied for extension using your I140) and file a FOIA you might get a copy of it. Quote Link to comment

User099
https://www.foia.gov/ It will take couple of months to get the information. You just need I140 approval notice. Quote Link to comment
xTDx
Your best and quickest path would be to request your employer to issue you an i140 approval copy or the receipt number to say the least. If you are filing FOIA as an alternative, make sure you do it the right way, in other words, get help of professional attorneys who deals with FOIS requests. USCIS has sent empty letters in the past for a lot of legit i140 requests. Quote Link to comment
User099
Yes, that's a good point. For a couple of hundred dollars you don't want to mess up the FOIA request and have to refile and go thought the wait period again. Quote Link to comment
