Kingsuk Mukherjee
Birth place of my Dad was in Bangladesh (Year 1969). They moved to India in the year of 1979. Then they took Indian citizenship. I born in 1987. I think I can get priority date of Bangladesh, as part of Cross Chargeability law in Green Card. Can some one please confirm ? Link to comment
JoeF
No, you can't. The birth place of the parents is irrelevant for your GC. Link to comment
pontevecchio
No. You cannot. The country of birth is controlling. Your Dad can try and get a GC sponsor with no wait. Link to comment
newacct
No. You were born in India so you are chargeable to India. Your parents were residing in India so you cannot claim a parent's nationality as country of chargeability (which would be India anyway). Link to comment
