Donagala Posted March 16, 2019 Report Share Posted March 16, 2019 Hi There, I am on H1 status with valid I-797 till end of 2019, My wife is on H4 and had visa stamped in India till Dec-2018. Now she got new h4 approval till end of 2019; now wanted to visit India very soon. Can she do drop box for her h4 visa stamping while she is staying back in USA? If Yes, what sort of documents need to submit? Does she have to visit Indian embassy here in USA? Please help me out. Link to comment
pontevecchio Posted March 16, 2019 Report Share Posted March 16, 2019 By definition a visa can only be obtained abroad. The Indian Embassy has no role in the H4 process. She will need to apply for a H4 visa back home based on your H1 approval till end 2019. Link to comment

Cannot do visa stamping while you are in US. Link to comment
