Hello,
I need some help regarding my H1B visa stamping. My I-129 petition is approved and the consulate notified on the approval is London as I was working there. However, I now have plans to travel back to my home country India. Can I go for the visa interview in Mumbai instead of the notified consulate which is London?
Are there any risks associated with this?
Thanks,
Vivek

There should be no specific risk associated. It may even be better for you.

As far as I know, H1b stamping can be done anywhere regardless of uscis notification. Please let me know if i'm wrong here.

Appreciate the response. Should i assume is it safe to attend interview in Mumbai than London. Whats the importance of "Consular Notification". I have to be absolutely sure on this as I won't be returning to London once I leave. Do I have to seek permission from Mumbai consulate before doing so?

The notification is not a punishment. You can get the visa in India. They will check the PIMS system to verify your H1 in any case.
