Passport renewal - Stamping

Hello. My passport expires in Sept 2017 and my stamping is till Sept 17. I plan to go to India in Dec and incase my client changes I have to get stamped again. In order to avoid getting stamped only till my passport expiration, I wanted to renew it before Dec. Will they let me renew  my passport 8 months in advance ?

I believe they request for passport which are atleast 6 months away from the date of expiry.

Firstly Passports can be renewed up to 1 year in advance. Secondly the visa will be till Petition expiry and not passport expiry and you will need to carry both passports if you get the new visa in the old passport.

Yes you will get visa till petition expiry but at port of entry they will give you I-94 only till passport expiry i.e. Sep 2017. Better renew your passport and then go for stamping in December. It takes approximately 3 weeks for passport renewal and you can do it 1 year before.

I did passport renewal application and it takes usually 1-3 weeks. Just apply renewal in USA and then go back india so you have stamping and I-94 till petiton expire date when you come back. you will get VISA till petition expiry but not i-94.

Can someone give me the exact url for applying for renewal ? A lot of urls that show up don't lead to the right website.

 

Also, Would it matter where I send for the renewal ? For example if I lived in Ohio, should I only send to the one in Chicago or can I send it to cali too ?
