Travel on OPT, H1-b approved

Dear Sir,

 

I am new to this forum. I have a confusing situation - 

 

I am currently on my STEM OPT valid till Mar 2017 and my H1b has been approved. My F1- visa stamp has already expired.

 

I need to go to India on August 18, 2016 and return in late September. I would go for H1b stamping on Aug 21, 2016 itself.

 

My questions -

 

1. What is my work status once the stamping is done? - Can I continue to work for the duration of my visit on STEM OPT even after stamping? If yes can I work on this till Sept 30th?

 

2. I know I cannot return to US before September 21. But after Sep 21 when I come back can I continue to work on my STEM OPT till October 1st? I will enter using my H1b stamp.

 

Please let me know what complications my employer and I are looking at?
