H4 Visa - DS 160

Hi ,

 

I am filling DS - 160 for my spouse who is coming on H4 . I am the primary applicant and i hold H1 Visa . While filling the Primary Applicant's details there is a column for Applicant Receipt/Petition Number . I know i have to enter my Petition Number which has been provided my USCIS . But my question is , i have my H1 Amendment in pending for change of location and got receipt notice for that, so which petition number i am supposed to enter ?

 

The number from approved I797  or the receipt number through which my H1 was in amendment status.

Which ever is the latest. If your amendment is pending/approved, I believe that would the I-129 petition supporting your H1-B. Hope this helps. As always :-), I am not an attorney so please dont take it on face value.

Hi,

I am presently in USA on tourist visa(B2) expiring on July 2016. 

However I have H4 visa stamped from India as well on my passport. (My husband is presently working on H1B in USA. But he has entered USA after I entered USA, hence I entered on B2.)

Please guide how can I convert my B2 to H4 while staying in USA, what is the process, I have 1.5 months time in hand.
