New passport number in Form I-129

Hi,

 

I'm currently in H1B visa which expires on 30th Sep 2016 and rightnow in the process of applying for H1B renewal. My passport expired on march 2016 and I had to get it renewed. The new passport I received is having a new passport number.

 

In the Form I-129, it asks for Passport details and the I-94 number. Since the I-94 points to my old passport number, My employer and I are confused which passport number to put in the form. Can someone help me with this issue?.

You must put your new passport number irrespective of the fact that your I-94 is tied to your old passport number which is now cancelled.
