I 94 Expired , I-797 Expired

Hello all,

 

            Here's my case. My current company laid me off and the status of my documents is as follows.

 

Perm Approval: July 30, 2015

I-140 Approval: Aug 26, 2015

1-94 Expiry Date: December 12, 2014

Latest I-797 Expiry Date: April 9, 2016 .

 

As you can see, Both my I 94 Expired , I-797 Expired and H1B Visa expired.

1) From the date of my I-797 expiry, How long can I stay in the United States? . Is there a time limit or am I already out of status?.

 

2) At this stage, Will I be able to extend my I-797 with a new employer if I find one for 3 years based on my 1-140 Approval or atleast is it possible to convert to F1 status?.

 

Any. reply/advise will be greatly appreciated as I need to make important decisions on leaving the country. Thank You.
