Do i need to verify PIMS in Matamoros

I have visa appointment in Matamoros, mexico .

Do i need to verify whether they have my reciept number updated in their PIMS database before appearing for the interview ?

If yes, How do i do that .

Once you complete your DS 160, I believe all the information you provided are available to the consular officer thru the database. You can call and verify but no one answers the phone or fax. Is your renewal or 1st time stamping. Good luck and keep us informed as how it went.

Matamoros consulate does not conduct PIMS verification before your scheduled consulate interview. If they do not find your case number at the time of interview, they will initiate the PIMS request to update your case at that time. Worst case you will be delayed by couple of business days, if PIMS verification needs to be done.
