Joint filing for green card application

Hello,

 

I currently have an approved green card petition that is waiting for the priority date to become current and is expected to take at least 6+ years due to the country of birth. I am currently in U.S. on H1B extension. My soon to be husband is also planning to file for his green card application but would have less than a year wait due to his country of birth. I am wondering if:

 

1) Can I joint file family based green card application with him at the time he applies for his green card and be eligible for the same priority date as his?

2) Is it recommended to be married before he files for his green card instead of him getting the green card first and then me applying for a green card as a spouse?

3) What happens to my employment based green card application and the priority date?

When his PD becomes current, both he and you can file I-485s, you as his dependent.
