health insurance and layoff

I know this is a little off topic but I would like to know what happens to my health insurance after layoff as my wife is due for delivery in September this year. If I get laid off a few months/weeks before due date what are insurance options besides Cobra, which is expensive. I would appreciate a response. Thanks.

You can sign up for Obama care ( even that is expensive now ) or stick to Cobra. Nothing else in this country

Try to negotiate with your employer not to terminate your insurance.

 

Give a call to the hospital and try to make a deal,I am not sure whether this is possible or not. But I guess there should a way to fix this problem. There are millions of people without insurance.

September is a long way to go. You have adequate time to plan your stay in US or move out of US.

That's correct. I didn't read the due date, OP has lot of time to find another employer.
