Travelling to India with renewed passport

/Hi All,

 

I have a plan to travel to India from 22nd January 2016 till 14th feb 2016 (return date).

 

Let me explain my scenario before asking questions. I have change my employer from A to B  and i have valid stamping from employer A till 31st December 2016. My passport is expiring on 19th June 2016 and so my I-94. Now I have below mentioned questions:

 

1) Can I travel to India for the above mentioned date with my new i-797 approval notice (I have less the 6 month left on my passport)? 

2) If i renew my passport in a week then do i need fresh stamping or will my previous stamping with I-797 will work (I believe i have to carry my  old passport , new passport and I 797 approval notice).

1. Yes. If you use current passport I94 validity will be till date of passport expiry.

2. No. Carry all passports.

I tried to renew my passport in US in Tatkal but they mentioned that tatkal service is for emergency only .  So, is it a good idea to renew my passport in Delhi India  in tatkal quota.

 

Note: My current passport issued from Bhopal.
