New SEVIS ID, Old Visa (F-1)

I recently was issued a new I-20 form because I took the semester off, and will be returning for my final semester. The SEVIS ID is different than the one on my visa. My question is, can I re-enter the country with a different I-20 form (new initial attendance) with my old visa. My visa doesn't expire until next year December. Also, after paying for my the new SEVIS fee, does it mean the ID is automatically activated?

 

I estimated the time from me notifying my international adviser of my leave of absence to my arrival date into the States (December 31st, 2015) to be exactly 4 months and 4 days, and I have my previous I-20 form with me.
